Your Martin guitar will become an instrument of your lifetime (most Martin models will increase their value through its life) as well as an incredible tool for you, as a performer, to sound great! Martin make manily three instrument-styles for you to consider: Dreadnought, OM/000 and Jumbo. are you one of those focusing on "amplified stage-sound" or solo/fingerpicking, I'd recomend OM/000 (Auditorium) guitars - physically small instruments, producing an accurate tone with less chance of feedback. The Dreadnoughts will in many ways sound "bigger" being a perfect instrument for "strumming". The Jumbo produces slightly less midrange than the D-series, in fact a combination of the characters allready mentioned . Also, the Jumbo is "the Rockstar-instrument". Rosewood guitars will sound "deeper" than f.ex. mahogany-guitars. Mahogany-guitars will produce a more "articulate" bass, sounding more "accurate" in a recording-session, for instance. Gulmoen & Engh is the Norwegian distributor of C.F. Martin & Co. They spend, in cooperation with their dealers, a lot of resources in marketing and serving Martin in a sober manner. There will be people, in all businesses, eager to benefit from the work of other people - in the M.I. business as well. Obviously, Gulmoen & Engh, as a distributor, will back up every sold Martin guitar! There are retailers who may be selling Martin instruments unauthorized. Instruments sold by unauthorized dealers are not warranted by C. F. Martin & Co. or Gulmoen & Engh (parallelimport).
